Objectives of the course:
The grammar course is aimed at revising, consolidating and developing students’ knowledge of the main aspects of English grammar. Students are expected to be able to recognize grammar structures as well as to handle them correctly in spoken and written language. In semesters 1 and 2 the aims also include assessing the students’ language competence and leveling out individual differences.
The course provides a comprehensive coverage of some of the main aspects of English grammar with plenty of practice exercises both controlled and focus-on form oriented tasks, i.e. learning grammar by means of communicative tasks, which aims at grammar structures being internalized by the students. The students will be expected to do some homework exercises. There will also be regular progress checking tests.
