In
this proseminar we will talk about the use of eye-tracking in reading research
and how it has contributed to our understanding of reading as a process. We
will look at how technology has changed our reading habits and how much of what
we read has been translated by humans or machines from other languages. We will
explore the reasons why translated texts have certain features, which are rare
in originally written language, and discuss how they might affect the reading
experience.
