The aim of the module is to:
introduce to procedure in development of brand-name drugs ( original) – base, pre-clinical, clinical reasearch/trials
develop the knowledge about differences between synthetic brand-name drugs and generic drugs
introduce to biopharmaceutics ( biological drugs) – production, contribution to pharmaceutical market
develop the knowledge about the mechanisms of drug metabolism and interactions of drugs with other drugs or diet
develop the knowledge about potential places and the mechanisms of drugs action within human cells, the strategies of drug addressing to the cells via enhancement of their affinity and about the mechanisms of human cells resistance to drugs
show the actual therapeutic strategies e.g. in cancer treatment (targeted therapy, CAR-T cell therapy, immunotherapy)
