Cognitive Analysis of Discourse focuses on the processes already identified by Cognitive Linguistics (metaphor, metonymy, framing, image schemata, blending) and applies that knowledge to analyse various types of discourse. During this class, we learn how language affects the way we see the world, and how our view of the world affects the way we talk and write.
