The goal of the course Specialized Vocabulary (Science and Technology) is to familiarise BA translation students with specialized vocabulary through lexical and practical translation exercises. During the course students work with various texts from scientific and technological domains, such as excerpts from popular science books, blog posts, YouTube clips, product descriptions, etc. Final evaluation criteria are based on assignments completed throughout the semester, i.e. homework translations, lexical quizzes, and the final test. After the completion of this course students will be able to translate texts that contain the studied vocabulary as well as research new topics and unknown scientific and technological terminology. They will also be able to work in teams to solve translation problems and produce linguistically correct texts.
